Welcome to Powell County Shooting Association. We are dedicated to providing a safe place to pursue our common interest of shooting.
Our Purpose
The Powell County Shooting Association is organized exclusively for educational purposes under section 501-C of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. Our Association’s purpose is to provide a safe, enjoyable, effective, and beneficial area that:
- promotes social welfare, public safety, and law and order
- educates and trains citizens of good repute in the safe and efficient handling of firearms
- promotes efficiency in the use of firearms on the part of members, law enforcement officers, national defense groups, children, hunter’s safety course attendees, and citizens dedicated to the shooting sports
- promotes amateur shooting competitions
Our Range
Thanks to the generosity of our community and the hard work of volunteers, our range has been greatly improved from its original form. We now have the following facilities:
- a covered 75 yard rim fire bay with 4 shooting benches and target frames
- a covered 100 yard large rifle bay with 4 shooting benches and target frames
- a covered 200 yard large rifle bay with 2 shooting benches, a target frame, and gongs
- four short-range pistol bays
- four intermediate-range bays
- a portable privy
